Is your child teething? If so, our dentist, Dr. Param Gill, is happy to help you soothe them. Teething is a big stage in life, and it can be quite irritating and painful (for you and your child). So, to help you and your child get through this teething stage, he is happy to give you some tips. Those tips are:
-Rub your baby’s gums (Use a clean finger to massage the gums and relieve the discomfort)
-Chill your baby’s gums (Give your child cold things to chew on because it’s like icing the area. Some things to give them include frozen foods, a cold spoon, a cold binky, etc.)
-Try giving your baby hard foods (If your child is eating solid foods, try giving them something to gnaw on, like a peeled and chilled cucumber or carrot. Make sure to supervise them closely)
-Give your baby an over-the-counter painkiller (This can be acetaminophen or ibuprofen)
-Use teething toys (These toys are meant to help teething babies break the teeth through the gums, which can provide comfort)
-Keep your baby close to you (If your child is clingy, put them in a baby sling around your chest. This can help them feel your comfort all while you get things done)
